Challenge A mandala is an image similar to a tessellation based on the pattern, but it is in circular form. I created these mandalas by using a circular template. You begin by using the magic wand tool and clicking on one section of the circle. After that you drag the section onto the photo you are going to use to make your mandala and pick which part of the photo you're going to use. Next you copy and paste your selected section onto the circular template. After that you duplicate the image and rotate it to fit in the next spot. After you line up the 2 images you merge the layer and duplicate it and continue doing this until the circle is complete. Finally you merge all the layers and save your image as a JPG and you're done. I love the results and I think the process of making these mandalas and tessellations is really fun. My favorite image is either the challenge one or the one I made using the photo of the rust. I struggled most with the challenge mandala, because I didn't place the images in the right spots, but once I fixed that it was fairly simple. I fi had to do this over again I would DEFINITELY take different pictures. I ended up not really using the photos we took specifically for the mandalas, because they didn't completely work for this type of project.
